What if the child refuses to visit the non custodial parent?

Monday, December 29th, 2008
greenie asked:

A 15 year old has been alienated from the non custodial parent by the custodial parent nd manipulated that the non custodial parent is “bad” or not “good enough” and what not (false).
Either way. There is joint legal custody. Now the child refuses to visit the other parent. The legal papers set a visitation schedule. What what are the legal consequences for the non custodial parent if the child refuses suddenly to visit the non custodial parent

My feeling it’s a setup.

What happens with child support if the custodial parent moves to another state?

What happens with child support if the custodial parent moves to another state? How is the jurisdiction handled for future child support issues?
Here is a little more detail. It getting close to review time and the custodial parent now lives in the same state as the non-custodial parent which was not the case with the original order. So the question is which state handles the review.

How is a mentally retarded person supposed to raise a child?

Monday, December 29th, 2008
tangerine asked:

I have noticed that some people are dead-set against the idea of prohibiting mentally retarded people from reproducing. However, I really wonder how a mentally retarded person can be expected to adequately raise a child. After all, mentally retarded adults are mentally still children themselves, so how can they be expected to adequately raise other children? Also, can a mentally retarded adult be expected to have the wisdom or emotional maturity that is needed to help their children through the various crises many of us go through when we’re young? And if mentally retarded parents have intellectually normal children, how can their children get the intellectual stimulation they need?

How much money can I donate to charity to save a life?

Monday, December 29th, 2008
lxr asked:

How much money does it take to save a life? If I were to donate $100, or $1000, or $10000 to the right charity, would that save someone’s life somewhere in the world? How many lives has Bill Gates saved?

Do some salons donate the money they get for highlights to certain causes?

Monday, December 29th, 2008
: primavera : asked:

I’ve heard that when a person pays for a single piece of hair to be dyed a specific color, the salon will donate the money they receive to a certain cause or charity. For instance, the cost to dye one red strand would be donated to fighting AIDS; the cost to dye one blue strand would be donated to stopping child abuse. Is this true (for some salons, if not all)? If so, which colors represent which causes?

What kind of community causes do you donate your time and/or money to and why?

Pirate Girls Kick ****! asked:

I work for a non-profit agency that works with people of all ages and abilities. We are trying to raise money for a state of the art facility for a preschool, k-12 school, 4 adult day habilitation programs, children’s case management, developmental therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and a greenhouse work program for adults, as well as community gardens, and a handicap accessible playground for the community. To better our community by increasing the abilities of the most disabled people in our community so they contribute to the community (and have an income), and provide a play/picnic area for all families and children of all abilities.
I am wondering what people donate to and why. It seems that there are many programs (grants and private trusts) to assist in things like animal shelters, and parks and things like that that are not such a high priority need for most communities. So why support these programs over programs that assist our community on a larger scale. Everyone knows someone who is an alcoholic/drug abuser, developmentally disabled, physically disabled, abused, raped, or has children in public programming and or activities, so why do chose to donate elsewhere?

Any ideas where to donate fresh grapefruit?

Monday, December 29th, 2008
LVgirl asked:

I picked a lot of grapefruit off of my tree today. I want to donate a bag to a charity. Do you know of any charities that will accept fresh fruit? (Salvation Army, Goodwill). I know they don’t accept perishables. But, I need to find a place that will take my grapefruit. My neighbors are tired of them. Should I ask Weight Watchers or a church? Please help.

How do I donate to a public cord blood bank?

Monday, December 29th, 2008
Firienscatha asked:

I am due in about 4 weeks, and have been interested in Cord Blood Banking for research developement purposes. All of the private banks cost to much (insurance will not cover it) and most of the time it is held for your personal use, not to be used for research or to help others in need. I want to donate my baby’s cord blood to a public bank (which is free and gets used to help others in need and/or for research). I have come up against a brick wall when trying to find a way to donate as there are no public banks in my area. Does anyone know of a way to donate to a public bank if it is out of your area? If you know of any that are in the central valley of California that would be helpful as well.
