What are some good children’s charities?

sammy ☮❤✿! asked:

I am having a dinner/dance benefit event to raise money for children in need. What are some different charities that I could go to once we have the money? This is a really important decision.

Thank you,
S.

All of the childrens charities deserve the money,so I don’t envy you your choice, but I think it’s called the Make A Wish foundation or something like that….It gives terminally ill children a chnce to make there dream come true….

Shriner’s Hospitals For Children treat children free of charge. They would be a good choice. There’s also the Make-a-Wish Foundation and Ronald McDonald charities. You might also want to look around in your local area to see if the local food shelf or homeless center needs childrens’ items. These last few would be good given that school is approaching soon and many low income/homeless kids may not have the needed supplies/clothing to begin the school year.

You have some really wonderful suggestions already. Three of which I was going to suggest. Shriners, Make-A-Wish and Ronald McDonald House.

My family has been blessed for generations with healthy children so we’ve never needed these services until two years ago when my brother’s family was visiting Disney World. After a week there my three year old niece developed a serious respiratory infection and ran a high fever. Her mom ran her to the emergency room and it was so serious the hospital sent her by ambulance to the children’s hospital.
The next day her aunt, grandparents and twin drove back to Texas while she stayed with her parents. She was hospitalized for three days. While there my brother and his wife stayed at Ronald McDonald house. My brother couldn’t say enough about their care and how well they were treated. They had to pay a very small amount ($10 or 15 per night, I can’t remember.) and scrub the room before leaving. It was a huge relief to to have the accommodations while tending to their sick child in a strange city.

your local Boys & Girls Club. You can go to if you need to locate one. or a local after school program – preferably one that’s grant-based and charges little to none for their programs. it’s so important for youth to have a safe environment to go to after school, especially now adays when their parents probably aren’t home since they’re out working 2 and 3 jobs.
