What charity can I donate my stuffed animals to?
peppamintgrl asked:
I have a whole bunch of almost new, GREAT condition stuffed animals. I want to give them to a charity that gives them to other needy children, not sells them (like Goodwill or Salvation Army). Is there a charity that passes out used stuffed animals to needy children? A tax-deductible charity would be nice, but any charity will do. I’m spring cleaning and I want to find a good use for my MANY toys. Thanks!

Your local hospital will be glad to take them.
St. Jude’s Hospital
Ronald McDonald House
You may even want to start a small program yourself. YOu and some of your friends or family could take and give the stuffed aminals to some of the children at the hospital.

Take them to Childrens Hospital and put them in the Play rooms. I am willing to bet, that by the end of the week, there wont be one that is left as the children will take them and hug them and treasure them all.
I wish you well…

A great place to donate your collection would be to a battered womens shelter. The children that are involved need some type of comfort in the confusion that ensues in these matters.

Find a local Children’s hospital or find DFS or an orphanage. I must say that your pretty awesome for trying to “give them” to kids instead of selling them. Wish more people were like that!!!
Well Done!

Local police stations use them to give to kids who are traumatized by their parent’s arrest or bad actions. You might contact your local police agency about this. Also, you might want to donate them to your local children’s emergency shelter for kids who have been abused, abandoned or neglected. You might also consider your children’s ward of your local hospital. You could give them out yourself! God bless you for doing this for the needy little ones!

Give them to your local ambulance service. Most people don’t realize that when a child is ill or injured in an accident they need comfort. A stuffed animal comforts them when needed most. An ambulance ride for them or who ever they are with is the most frightening thing a small child can go through.

The Red Cross has a program about children in disasters to whom they give teddy bears and blankets, etc., I believe, or you local fire department, or even just the children’s ward at area hospitals would be glad to receive them. Good luck.

Thats very sweet. I am glad to hear someone wanting to be generous in the name of children.
If there is a childrens hospital around that would be the best place to take them. I suggest calling around to see if the hospitals will take them and get instructions on where to take them.
Hope you find a good place for them.
