can you donate a car without the title in california?

I have a junk car that just sitting collecting tickets..I do not have the title..can i donate without it?

    Just apply for a lost title from the DMV and no they will not take a car without a title.

    First get the title. If it’s yours and in your name, you can apply for a duplicate title. Then you can donate it, sell it, whatever.

    But no, cars are sold, given away, donated, by title. Even the junk yard wants a title.
