What is the best way to donate a car in Oregon?
I see some third party websites offering to act as a middleman between the charity and myself. Are they legit? How can I check this? Also, I am interested in the quickest way to donate my car. Any suggestion?
OK. I actually got the answer myself. There are legitimate middlemen. I called a charity and they referred me to one. As for my current situation, I am going to give it to my local Goodwill since they will deal with me directly.

that depends on where you are. You can look in the yellow pages for non-profit organizations supporting veterans or homeless or the poor etc. or you can go directly to the donation centers. In Portland, I know of two in my area, one is on the corner of 92nd and Halsey and does a booming buisiness, Another is on 102nd and Glisan. I have never heard of a middleman for this but would very warry of a scam. Nobody does this for free you get a tax deduction. Even the non-profits have to pay thier employees.
